Join Us Tuesday October 27, from 8:30 pm ET to 10 pm ET for an interactive discussion on our role in the most important presidential election of our lifetime.
It’s not enough for us to vote for them- we must use our voices, our prayers and our privilege to step outside our comfort zone and help elect them.
In 2016, 81% of white evangelicals voted for Trump. 53% of white women voted for Trump. As a white Christian woman who voted for Hillary, I see myself in these numbers and I know that my lack of engagement in the 2016 election contributed to 45’s victory.
We are accountable for the results and outcome of this 2020 election. We are accountable for how white women and Christians show up to the polls. We are accountable for stretching ourselves outside of our comfort zones. We cannot allow Black women and women of color to labor alone in pursuit of this critical victory.
By choosing to join the conversation, you are committing to-
Arrive early (between 8:20-8:25 pm ET), engage on video and stay until the end. Because of the nature of the conversation, we will start together and end together on video. We need to arrive on time, or early, so that we can maximize our time together and be present to one another for the entire conversation.
Share. This will be a time for sharing and exploring our thoughts and feelings. A time for being bold, for being vulnerable, and for being open to sharing what’s on our hearts and minds. There will not be an option to be a passive listener; it's not a panel discussion.
Listen with curiosity. We will listen to each other- both in small groups and also through open discussion. We will honor each other’s stories.
Practice grace for ourselves and others. We will make mistakes and we will stumble. We commit to having grace for ourselves, and for each other, as we live out the belief that Christ has already paid for our sins.
Honor next steps. We will each leave with commitments to practice in the next 7 days and beyond.
